125th Anniversary Gala at the Long Beach Convention Center

A contractors association celebrated its 125th anniversary with a gala at the Long Beach Convention Center on September 12, 2026. The evening opened outside with live music, light bites and time to mingle, then moved indoors for dinner, drinks and speeches from the stage.

It was a suits-and-gowns crowd, and four Alisa Maxime Studio artists sketched 239 guests over the course of the night. Guests came to the table between the reception and dinner, signed up with a quick photo, and returned to the program while the artists drew. When a portrait was ready, a text brought them back to collect it, signed and in a protective sleeve.

The sketches drew a steady crowd of onlookers at the table, and guests who had already collected theirs came back to watch the artists work.
