Wedding on the Lawn at The Ritz-Carlton, Dana Point

The couple were married on the lawn of The Ritz-Carlton in Dana Point on September 12, 2026, with the ocean behind the ceremony and about 200 guests in front of it. It was a Middle Eastern wedding, and the culture ran through the whole day: the attire, the food, and the traditions in the ceremony itself.

That made for a rich evening at the sketching table. Guests arrived in outfits unlike anything at a typical wedding, and three Alisa Maxime Studio artists drew 64 of them over the reception. The ceremony ran a little long, so the first guests reached the table later than planned, and from then on the sketching was nearly nonstop.

Each guest paused for a quick photo with our host, went back to the celebration, and picked up their portrait once a text said it was ready. The response was warm all night, and many guests said the sketch was the keepsake they would take home from the wedding.
